About Us

Our Mission

To establish a safe living environment and create a community atmosphere for adults with intellectual / developmental disabilities and individuals without disabilities.

Who We Are

Project ALEX Communities is an all-volunteer organization consisting of family members & friends working together to realize the vision of creating a safe living environment for our young adults with disabilities and individuals without disabilities, thereby fostering a community atmosphere. We are actively engaged in securing funding to construct and operate our 1st community in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.

We Are Accepting Donations

As a charitable organization, donations to Project ALEX Communities will be used to benefit the disabled residents and grow the community.

Donations to Date Provide:

Programs for Those with Disabilities

  1. Social activities (Entertainers & speakers, movie night, trips to local recreation & entertainment venues)
  2. Daily living skills (In-person and virtual sessions: cooking, knitting, gardening; shopping trips, etc)

  

Board-Designated Endowment

  1. Supplemental financial support to assure that all disabled residents are allowed to remain in residence for as long as they desire (A key concern when the disabled resident has outlived family members)


Once the Community is Operational

  1. Furnishings for the community
  2. Community gardens and other beautification projects
  3. A community Resource Center ( Films, books & other appropriate resource materials)
